The National Police day held by the Saps in Wentworth took
place on January 27. The cluster (E.I.S) stations members were present. This was the initiative by Ethekwini inner South Cluster Commander General Chirwa to host such prayer event in Wentworth Saps. The prayer began at 11:00 and Captain Cherryl Pillay from Chatsworth Communication office was the program director for the day.
The Chaplain: Captain Kistiah opened in prayer, National Anthem sung by attendees, followed by a candle lighting by Saps Wentworth Station Commander Colonel W.A.F Van Zyl
in remembrance of fallen heroes in the entire Saps. The code of conduct reading done by Constable Natasha Mei of Social Crime Prevention Wentworth Saps was well accepted.
The Community Policing Forum Chairman Ps Donny Anderson also addressed the attendees and highlighted on the importance of the Community to work with the police in fighting crime. Musical items, songs of praise and worship from Saps Chatsworth Youth desk kept everyone on their toes as they entertained everyone with gospel/spiritual songs with their voices as the band played. Pastor Takalani Mufumadi from Grace Tabernacle full Gospel Church then gave a sermon and prayed for the women and men in blue asking Almighty for protection upon them when performing their work as a service to community.
The last item was a vote of thanks to all the spiritual leaders, to those who contributed, and who made this prayer day a commemoration of National Police a success.The 27th of January is a National Police day in Commemoration of all fallen Heroes in Saps organization, who paid the ultimate prize during the performance of their duties.
